An original oil, painted from sketches on location, on 14" x 10" board, framed in white washed traditional "spoon" wood moulding 19" x 15". This work attempts to convey the sparkling intensity of the light on a bright autumn morning by the lake. A beech tree has lost a branch creating a gap where the sunshine illuminates the trunk and leaves. They seem to reflect even more brightly.
